About The Position

Walmart’s next-generation fulfillment network is rapidly evolving, and this role is at its core. As Senior Manager of Fulfillment Automation Engineering, you will own and optimize the end-to-end inbound process—from unload to storage—driving continuous improvement in a highly visible, strategic supply chain initiative. In this high-impact, high-autonomy role, you’ll collaborate across engineering, operations, and product teams to design and enhance automated fulfillment processes, directly shaping company performance at scale. What you'll do... Lead continuous improvement for inbound fulfillment processes (unloading to storage) in Walmart’s next-gen network Analyze process flows and automation systems to identify and address inefficiencies and risks Use data analytics to generate insights and guide strategic decisions with cross-functional teams Design and document process enhancements and standard workflows Partner with automation teams to evaluate and implement new equipment Build business cases to support investment decisions Manage projects, track progress, mitigate risks, and communicate updates Translate technical concepts for both technical and executive audiences Promote a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven problem-solving What you’ll bring... Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related) or 7+ years’ relevant experience Strong data analytics and storytelling skills Proven project management and change management experience Ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences Excellent written and verbal communication Experience with fulfillment/distribution automation systems (conveyance, sortation, robotics, WCS/WMS) Familiarity with mechatronics, control systems, or electrical design Proficiency with analytics and data visualization tools Background in engineering economics and financial modeling for automation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related) or 7+ years’ relevant experience
  • Strong data analytics and storytelling skills
  • Proven project management and change management experience
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience with fulfillment/distribution automation systems (conveyance, sortation, robotics, WCS/WMS)
  • Familiarity with mechatronics, control systems, or electrical design
  • Proficiency with analytics and data visualization tools
  • Background in engineering economics and financial modeling for automation
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 4 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area.
  • Option 2: 6 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience.
