The Senior Manager, Report Writing role focuses on overseeing operations, ensuring work is completed by their team, leading and evaluating their team’s performance towards quarterly goals, task scheduling, personnel resource allocation, training, process efficiency, recruitment, and hiring. Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling, PhD or MD in clinical medicine, genetics, molecular biology, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience leading a team in a clinical setting
  • Track record of guiding coworkers, leading teams toward project goals, and monitoring data
  • Familiarity with American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) variant curation guidelines.
  • Knowledge of genomic variation and its correlation with human disease.
  • Expertise in concepts of clinical medicine, genetics, genomics, or molecular biology.
  • Experience in data quality assessment and communicating genetic details effectively.
  • Excellence in reading/writing medical language.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare schedules, task delegation, ensuring test turnaround time
  • Training, managing staff, performance evaluation, recruitment
  • Updating protocols, department metrics, compliance, designing quarterly projects
  • Report writing duty for complex or edge cases
  • Complete gene-disease-variant curation for cases and back-end
  • Assisting team as needed
  • Draft comprehensive genetic testing reports for whole genome sequencing and other advanced assays.
  • Curate and interpret variants and genes, ensuring precision and clarity in clinical context.
  • Focus on the scientific and analytical evaluation of genetic data.
  • Maintain gene–disease association language to reflect the latest scientific evidence and ensure consistency across clinical reports.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams, respond to inquiries, and provide expert guidance.
