The CENTROID Data Science team develops intelligent solutions to make highly visible and impactful decisions in network transformation at Walmart. The work includes solving problems such as Ambient and Perishable inbound network design, middle mile network flow optimization, last mile delivery, transportation and monetization strategies to provide Walmart a competitive edge in the medium to long term. We primarily employ various techniques from Operations Research to classical Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Simulation, Causal Inference, Statistics, and Artificial Intelligence. Our work is innovative and is published in top-tier conferences and journals. You will be part of the team that won the prestigious INFORMS Franz Edelman award in 2023.

Requirements

  • Ph.D./M.S. in a quantitative discipline such as Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics with minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Be able to leverage your thesis in Operations Research or Statistics or an equivalent quantitative field involving math programming techniques, stochastic programming, simulation, statistics and/or Machine Learning methods.
  • Experience with one or more of optimization toolkits/libraries like CPlex, Gurobi, XPressMP or open-source solvers.
  • Strong software development skills in languages such as Python and familiarity with Machine Learning libraries such as Scikit, Tensorflow, Pytorch, Keras. Data querying ability using SQL.
  • Ability to communicate your results to both technical and non-technical audiences alike.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional leaders.
  • Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • 7 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
