About The Position

The Senior Manager, General Ledger Accounting, plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of AIS’s financial reporting as the company continues its strong growth trajectory. This position owns the general ledger close, leads the GL accounting team, strengthens internal controls, and serves as a key accounting partner during AIS’s ongoing ERP transformation and systems modernization. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader with strong manufacturing experience who can balance operational execution with strategic thinking in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, inventory accounting, and cost accounting
  • ERP implementation or major system upgrade experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with large ERP systems required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and consistency
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure accurate accounting for inventory, cost of goods sold, overhead absorption, fixed assets, accruals, reserves, and intercompany activity
  • Maintain the integrity of the chart of accounts and ensure consistent application across entities and departments
  • Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement reviews; proactively identify and resolve variances
  • Ensure proper accounting for manufacturing operations, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and production variances
  • Partner closely with Operations and FP&A to support margin analysis, cost drivers, and operational decision-making
  • Support AIS’s continued growth and complexity, including new systems, processes, and potential entity expansion
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Staff Accounting Team, setting clear expectations and accountability
  • Establish strong review, documentation, and cross-training practices
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement aligned with AIS values and Shingo principles
  • Support succession planning and professional development within the Accounting function
  • Prepare and review audit-ready schedules, reconciliations, and support documentation
  • Serve as a hands-on lead during audits, responding to auditor inquiries and managing follow-ups
  • Serve as a primary Accounting contact for external auditors
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls across GL, AP, and AR processes, policies, and accounting procedures
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Act as a senior Accounting for ERP implementation, upgrades, and integrations
  • Partner with IT and Finance leadership to improve reporting, automation, and data accuracy
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline the close process and reduce manual work
  • Support system testing, data validation, and post-implementation stabilization
  • Provide accounting insight and guidance to Finance leadership/ AP and AR Leaders
  • Participate in special projects, acquisitions, or strategic initiatives at AIS
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning efforts
