About The Position

As the Senior Manager of Hardware Design Engineering (Thermal), you will lead a world-class team in developing cutting-edge cooling solutions for AI servers, switches, and accelerators. We are looking for a collaborative leader to partner with cross-functional architects to define best-in-class products while pushing the boundaries of thermal technology. You will leverage your expertise in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and 3D simulation to transition concepts from initial schematics through to rigorous testing and full-scale manufacturing. By integrating feedback from supply chain and reliability experts, you’ll ensure our high-performance systems are as robust as they are innovative. Requirements

  • Strong user of Flotherm as CFD analysis tool. Transient analysis experience is a plus
  • Expert in various heat sinks, heat pipe, vapor chamber design/selection, liquid cooling or other advanced cooling technology is a plus
  • In-depth experience in various fan speed control methodology and over temperature protection mechanism
  • Expert with thermal measurement technology and test tools such as temperature data logger, IR camera, wind tunnel, air speed meter etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of Mechanical design tool such as Pro/E considered a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of server/storage/switch system architecture is a plus.
  • Broad knowledge of industry standards including SBB, NEBS, GR-63, ASHRAE TC9.9,etc
  • 10+ Years of experience with Thermal Design and Simulation
  • Requires 4+ years of managerial/leadership experience
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong multi-disciplinary background
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Successful track record bringing products to market
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects, involving multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.
  • Take responsibility for non-technical elements of an engineering project (people, financials etc.).
  • Review and interpret customer requirements/specifications and may act as primary customer contract.
  • Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions. Develops deployment strategies and plans.
  • Lead the deployment of strategic complex programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.
  • May manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
  • Research systems ideas and will draw up plans for these systems
  • Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs.
  • Create designs in line with Celesticas procedures, regulations and customer standards
  • Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
  • Solve complex problems
  • Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
  • Recommend system modifications
  • Set yearly plans and goals for the department, give direction on expected performance, provide regular performance evaluations and ongoing feedback. Accountable for all department objectives and achieving agreed targets for key performance indicators.
  • Analyzing and interpreting data and information
  • Calculate factors like tolerance, dimensions, and thermal and structural analysis
