About The Position

VIZIO releases firmware & software for millions of customers in a time efficient manner. We are seeking a Cloud based DevOps Manager, to join our robust and scaling DevSecOps team and lead the CloudOps Segment. You will report to the Director, DevSecOps Engineering and will play a pivotal role in optimizing our upstream services and software delivery mechanisms, foster collaboration, ensure efficient operations, and ensure processes are standardized and well documented. While leading the team, you will remain actively hands-on, contributing directly to infrastructure such as code, architecture decisions, troubleshooting, and implementation alongside your engineers. You'll bridge the gap between development and operations, enabling seamless workflows and continuous improvement. If you're passionate about automation, infrastructure management, and solving complex challenges, this role is for you! This position is based in Dallas and is expected to be in-office five days a week.

Requirements

  • Expertise in end-to-end system architecture, dataflow, and design.
  • Extensive experience in a hybrid cloud provider environments: Azure, GCP, and AWS.
  • Expertise in containerized services (EKS, AKS, ECS, Azure Container Services, GKS).
  • Experience with serverless functions (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions).
  • Expert knowledge of monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Google Cloud Monitoring).
  • Experience working with Content Distribution Networks.
  • Proficiency working with relational databases, queueing technology, pub/sub technology, and data storage solutions.
  • Experience automating CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Spinnaker).
  • Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 8 years of experience working in DevOps or CloudOps.
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role, and at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a design/architecture role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 5years’ experience in information security or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
  • Option 2: 7 years’ experience in information security or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Security+, GISF, CISM, or CISA
  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity or related area and 3 years’ experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently allocate resources to ensure optimal performance and productivity across all projects.
  • Pull Request Reviews: Conduct thorough pull request reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices across all cloud and DevOps projects.
  • Infrastructure as Code Contributions: Drive and contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives, ensuring scalable, reliable, and repeatable infrastructure deployments.
  • Identity and Access Management Architecture & Application: Architect and oversee the implementation of robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, safeguarding cloud environments and ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Work Prioritization: Prioritize tasks and projects based on business needs and strategic goals, ensuring timely completion.
  • Accountability: Drive accountability within the team, ensuring that responsibilities are clearly defined and met.
  • Project Management: Utilize Jira for project management, ensuring tasks are tracked, prioritized, and completed efficiently.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication channels within the team and with key stakeholders.
  • Team Dynamics: Promote a positive team culture, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Ownership and Pride: Take ownership and pride in the team's infrastructure solutions, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and reliability.
  • Technical Proficiency: showcase your technical proficiency to design and promote technical solutions that meet product and project requirements.
  • Operations, Software Releases and Deployment Coordination: Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure smooth releases. Maintain detailed documentation for processes, and configurations.
