About The Position

This Senior Manager role is a unique opportunity to drive significant change within the Firm's dynamic Tech Disputes practice by enhancing technology enablement, operational efficiency, data-driven solutions, and process innovation. The position is integral to supporting one of the Firm’s key client portfolios, combining leadership in complex technology initiatives, information systems management, and cross-functional collaboration. As a key member of the Firm’s global Legal Operations team, the Senior Manager will oversee client-facing legal technology initiatives for disputes and compliance matters within high-value and multi-jurisdictional portfolios for technology-focused clients. The role involves managing end-to-end delivery of client technology enablement initiatives, with an emphasis on client portfolio management, AI and automations, data and systems management, operational excellence, and solutions delivery. This includes streamlining processes, implementations of client-level enterprise technology solutions, improving client-facing reporting dashboards, and building out sophisticated, bespoke AI solutions for the client team. The Senior Manager will also manage and mentor junior team members, contribute to the Firm’s Legal Operations growth strategy, and actively participate in innovation initiatives to implement practical tools, processes, and best practices. Strategic relationship-building with business services teams, legal teams, local counsel, and clients is critical, as is the ability to confidently present operational insights during leadership and client meetings. The success of this role will be measured by the Senior Manager’s ability to provide technical resourcing and solutions, optimize processes, deliver high-quality insights, and implement change, thereby transforming the team's legal operations capabilities and promoting service and operational excellence across the Firm’s most critical client relationships.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing end-to-end technology solutions in complex, multi-stakeholder legal environments
  • Experience in data analytics, data modeling, and the use of business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Demonstrated success in leading process improvements and driving operational efficiency within legal or corporate environments, including designing and monitoring KPIs and reporting results to senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with comfort navigating ambiguity and owning complex initiatives with minimal oversight
  • Experience leading change management initiatives and driving adoption of new processes, technologies, and ways of working
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams, including experience mentoring junior staff and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across departments to achieve shared objectives
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact effectively at all levels including with senior business stakeholders and clients, with ability to present, negotiate, and persuade to achieve successful outcomes
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities, work cross-functionally, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-moving, detail-oriented environment
  • Flexible and resilient with ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences across global teams
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, or a closely related field, with a demonstrable track record of working on cross-functional teams within a law firm or professional services environment
  • A strong academic record, preferably of graduate level in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology or similar field
  • Formal project management qualification essential, for example APMQ or PMP
  • Demonstrated familiarity with AI tools and technologies, including practical exposure through certifications, project experience and/or self-directed learning

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Director of Legal Operations, develop and strengthen the Firm’s legal operations capabilities and pipeline of work, influencing Partners and lawyers to utilize Legal Ops support on their matters and portfolios.
  • Take hands-on responsibility for driving delivery across (1) data and systems management, (2) AI and automations, and (3) data reporting and insights for key client relationships
  • Understand client and internal business requirements and pain points, and translate those needs into workable, scalable, end-to-end solution designs tailored to specific client service delivery models
  • Oversee technical pilots, proofs of concept, and phased rollouts, ensuring initiatives are evaluated against clear success criteria before broader deployment
  • Translate legal process pain points into scalable technical solutions using generative AI, robotic process automation (RPA), and no-code/low-code automation tooling
  • Lead the design and implementation of lightweight, targeted AI solutions, including agents, copilots, and workflow automations
  • Deploy AI-driven automation that measurably reduces manual effort and improves efficiency across legal workflows
  • Support the build-out of a centralized data ecosystem that enables scalable analytics, automation, and AI initiatives across the Firm's largest client portfolios
  • Collaborate with Practice Solutions to develop and maintain prompt frameworks, guardrails, and evaluation standards to ensure accuracy, compliance, and responsible AI use across all deployed solutions
  • Ensure data integrity, governance standards, and systems interoperability across all platforms and tools within the key client technology stack
  • Facilitate working sessions and stakeholder workshops to drive adoption of new processes and technologies
  • Measure the impact of process improvements using defined metrics and communicate results clearly to legal teams, clients, and senior stakeholders
  • Prioritize and re-prioritize work based on return on investment, risk, capacity, and dependencies, balancing short-term delivery with longer-term improvement goals
  • Build strong relationships and foster a collaborative approach between the Firm's legal teams, local counsel, clients, and business services functions across all projects and workstreams
  • Serve as the operational and technical point of contact between legal teams, clients, and service providers, ensuring effective communication, alignment, and coordination
  • Collaborate closely with Innovation, Practice Solutions, Legal Project Management, Pricing, Finance, Technology, and Business Development to ensure seamless integration of technical solutions with broader client and Firm objectives
  • Support cross-functional teams in executing to their full potential, driving clarity and accountability across initiatives that span multiple stakeholders and geographies
  • Confidently present operational insights, technology updates, and performance outcomes at internal team meetings and, where appropriate, client-facing sessions
  • Support the line management and day-to-day mentoring of junior Legal Operations team members, contributing to their development and helping build legal operations expertise across the Firm
  • Stay current on emerging legal operations trends, AI developments, and technology best practices, incorporating relevant advancements into the team's delivery approach
  • Participate actively in innovation initiatives, contributing practical tools, processes, and methodologies that strengthen the Firm's capabilities
  • Foster a working culture of continuous learning, technical curiosity, and operational excellence within the immediate team
