We’re looking for an experienced Sr. Manager Manufacturing Operations to join our Electric Power global operations team and lead our Switchgear facility in Alpharetta, GA. This role will report to the global operations and supply chain director and be part of a management team overseeing significant growth within the Electric Power Division. This position will oversee and direct daily plant operations including production and manufacturing, maintenance, engineering support, safety, regulatory compliance, distribution and warehousing. The role is also instrumental in collaboration with the Product Management Director, Engineering Director and Supply Chain Director, to develop and deliver a growth strategy and lean manufacturing transformation.

Requirements

  • Collaborating: Demonstrated ability to work constructively with diverse individuals and groups to achieve shared business goals. Proven experience leading or contributing to collaborative processes that drive problem-solving and effective decision-making. Ability to establish shared objectives and create inclusive environments where stakeholders can contribute ideas and feedback. Strong skill in breaking down organizational or functional silos to enable collaboration across roles, levels, and locations. Experience leading cross functional problem resolution efforts and engaging appropriate stakeholders to drive outcomes.
  • Quality Management: Demonstrated knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques, with the ability to support and sustain organizational quality goals. Ability to lead, conduct, or support quality reviews and effectively communicate the value and benefits of quality management processes.
  • Performance Management: Demonstrated ability to apply established policies, procedures, and best practices to achieve business objectives. Experience managing priorities, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing business needs. Experience managing and developing talent to achieve significant steps in growth and overall business results.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Demonstrated experience creating or building an agreed Lean Manufacturing Strategy, Process and Culture. Ideally with Caterpillar Production System or similar Production system experience.
  • Planning and Organizing: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate information and make sound, timely decisions. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and organizational levels. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering/ Supply Chain/Manufacturing discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee hiring, performance management, and training programs to ensure the development of personnel supporting plant operations.
  • Direct all manufacturing operations to deliver cost-effective, timely, and high-quality products while maintaining a safe, secure, and sanitary work environment.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of operating methods, equipment, systems, and infrastructure to achieve operational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and manage production schedules to meet internal targets and customer expectations, monitor performance, and remove operational obstacles to drive results.
  • Develop, Collaborate and achieve the Operations and Supply Chain strategy to support significant growth in the business.
