Role and Responsibilities Position Summary Oversee end-to-end quality control processes, from manufacturing to final packaging and shipment within the United States Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance (QA) management framework tailored for mobile products (smartphones, tablets, wearables) in the U.S. market Drive t he achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to incoming quality at wireless carriers Conduct in -depth analyses of quality issues, with a specific focus on product and packaging quality Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure products meet stringent carrier quality standards before shipment Collaborate closely with headquarters (HQ) and global manufacturing/operations teams to align quality standards and practices

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in quality control, engineering, and analytics in the mobile and service industry
  • Proficiency in Korean required
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001/TL 9000)
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • First Article Inspection (FAI) Management
  • FAI Process Management: Develop and implement FAI procedures to ensure that new products meet design and quality specifications for carrier requirements
  • Inspection Planning: Coordinate with R&D, verification engineering, and production teams to plan and execute FAI activities
  • Quality Standards Compliance: Ensure FAI processes comply with industry standards and regulations
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of FAI results, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions
  • Carrier Inbound Quality & Collaboration
  • Carrier Inbound Quality KPI Achievement: Develop and execute strategies to achieve and exceed Inbound Quality KPIs required by wireless carriers
  • Carrier Quality Window Management: Support carriers' quality testing and inbound inspection processes, promptly resolving any quality holds or issues to prevent delays in carrier inventory receipt and sales schedules
  • Regular Quality Review: Lead routine quality meetings with carrier quality teams to share performance data, discuss improvement opportunities, and ensure Carrier requirements are integrated into Samsung's quality roadmap
  • Quality Control Management
  • Develop and implement quality control strategies, manage inspection and testing processes, and lead a team of quality assurance professionals
  • Quality Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve quality issues promptly, implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence. Analyze root causes of defects and develop long-term solutions to improve product reliability
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor and analyze quality metrics, preparing detailed reports for upper management to inform decision-making. Use data-driven insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • DOA Operation management
  • Lead and oversee the quality assurance processes for mobile DOA (Dead on Arrival) operations and related customer scorecards
  • Monitor and analyze DOA defect trends and deliver weekly/monthly DOA quality reports to internal leadership, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections for DOA processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Support contract reviews and compliance checks to ensure alignment with Samsung return policies and regulatory requirements
