About The Position

Position Overview: The Senior Release & Deployment Manager serves as the strategic owner of HealthEdge’s enterprise release and deployment lifecycle. This role oversees and optimizes how software changes move through complex environments—driving predictability, governance, automation, and alignment across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Customer teams. This leader is accountable for ensuring deployments occur smoothly, safely, and consistently, while also maturing the overall release discipline at scale. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software implementation, release engineering, deployment coordination, or largescale environment management—including complex application migrations.
  • 3–5+ years leading teams (Release Managers, Engineers, DevOps, or related technical teams).
  • Proven ability to scale processes, teams, and operating models in a fast-moving environment. moving environment.

  • Expert understanding of the SDLC, deployment architectures, change governance, and integrated system dependencies.
  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing release failures, environment drift, integration breakpoints, and scaling bottlenecks.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication—simplifying complex technical issues for executives and customers.
  • Senior-level governance and deep technical leadership across the full release, deployment, and environment management lifecycle, including:on experience with major DevOps and environmentmanagement tooling, including:
  • Strategic oversight of complex CI/CD ecosystems (i.e. Jenkins), ensuring pipelines are scalable, promotion workflows are controlled, and that there is alignment with organizational release standards.
  • Expertise establishing policies and controls for CMDB accuracy, environment mapping, and configuration traceability to support compliant, audit ready releases.
  • Defining enterprise Git strategies end-to-end and ensuring code quality and predictable delivery.
  • Overseeing Jira and enterprise workflow tooling to ensure traceability through deployment and ensuring rigor and efficiency in automation integration.
  • Providing direction for cloud compute, storage, networking, and pipeline services while setting best practices across all release activities.
  • Ensuring release and deployment processes are supported by robust observability frameworks (ELK or equivalent)
  • Establishing standards and practices for IaC frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalents) to ensure consistent and repeatable environment provisioning across all deployment tiers.
  • Guiding best practices, security controls, and operational standards for Unix/Linux-based systems supporting application deployments and automated pipelines.
  • Proven success in driving:
  • hotfix lifecycle and emergency release processes
  • Legacy to modern release transformations
  • Disaster recovery planning and associated exercises
  • Automated testing and promotion workflows

Responsibilities

  • Establish and evolve a holistic Release & Deployment strategy, enabling predictable, scalable delivery across multiple products and customer environments.
  • Serve as the primary governance authority for release readiness, quality compliance, deployment approvals, and production promotion.
  • Define and enforce release policies, SLAs, and success criteria to ensure consistency across all teams.
  • Strengthen deployment pipelines by driving automation, standardization, and quality controls that reduce risk and increase speed.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive roadmap for continuous improvement of release tooling, deployment processes, and environment reliability.
  • Identify systemic issues, root causes, and process gaps—then implement longterm solutions.
  • Lead collaboration with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure/Operations, Customer Delivery, and Support to ensure alignment from planning through postrelease validation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders—translating release impacts, risks, and dependencies in a clear and timely manner.
  • Drive consensus and influence leaders across functions to solve complex, ambiguous ecosystem challenges.
  • Oversee complex code deployments, database synchronization efforts, and DevOps practices across multiple customer and internal environments.
  • Ensure environments are maintained in a knowngood, stable, compliant state through structured monitoring, validation, and documentation.
  • Lead modernization efforts—including migrations from legacy release architecture to more scalable, clouddriven and automated models.
  • Mentor and develop Release Managers, fostering a culture of ownership, operational rigor, and continuous improvement.
  • Improve team competencies around automation, risk assessment, stakeholder communication, and modern deployment methodologies.
