About the Team We build streamlined, reliable solutions that power Walmart’s Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience (ADE). Our scope spans procurement, supplier portfolio management, merchandising master data, and analytics. From HR chatbots and virtual assistants to invoice automation and compliance solutions, we drive efficiency and innovation across Walmart globally.

Requirements

Proven experience leading teams both technically and as a formal manager.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex requirements.
Deep expertise in designing and deploying scalable, distributed ML pipelines and services.
Proficiency in key technologies: API design, distributed systems, Python (ML, APIs, workflows), cloud platforms (Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, Airflow, SQL.
Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to write production-quality code.
Intellectual curiosity and passion for MLOps and cloud technologies.
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
2 years’ supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing team.
Define the People.AI product roadmap by aligning business priorities with ML architecture.
Provide hands-on technical guidance in critical areas while coaching for team success.
Collaborate closely with People.AI product and business leaders.
Work cross-functionally with product, data science, app development, and engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.
Identify new opportunities, develop prototypes, secure stakeholder buy-in, and communicate staffing needs.
Present your team’s work to senior leadership and executives regularly.
Build and optimize cloud-based architectures for scalable ML model deployment.
Champion MLOps best practices—CI/CD, test automation, automated deployments, model retraining, and monitoring for continuous performance.
Stay ahead of state-of-the-art ML techniques and foster a culture of learning and innovation.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
