About the Role Baxter’s Advanced Surgery business is one of the company’s most strategically important and fastest growing divisions, focused on improving outcomes in complex surgical procedures through trusted hemostats, sealants, and adhesion prevention solutions. The business is a priority area for Baxter’s executive leadership, with continued investment in innovation, portfolio expansion, and strategic growth. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Insights & Analytics to play a central role in shaping how Advanced Surgery understands its markets, competitors, and future opportunities. This role owns market intelligence and competitive insights for the division and combines rigorous analytics with strategic thinking to inform long range planning, portfolio decisions, and business development priorities. This is a high visibility role that sits at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and storytelling. The Senior Manager will work closely with global Marketing, R&D, Medical, Regulatory, Finance, and Commercial teams, and their insights will regularly inform senior leadership discussions. You will join a collaborative, low ego team that values curiosity, partnership, and impact—and you will inherit a strong analytical foundation while helping evolve the function for the future. What You’ll Do In this role, you will be responsible for turning complex healthcare data into clear strategic direction for the Advanced Surgery business. You will lead market intelligence and competitive insights, maintaining a deep understanding of the competitive landscape across hemostats, sealants, adhesion prevention, and adjacent surgical categories. This includes monitoring competitor performance and strategy, synthesizing quarterly earnings and investor communications, tracking product launches and regulatory developments, and translating external signals into implications for Baxter’s portfolio and positioning. A core component of the role is global market sizing, forecasting, and long range planning. You will own Advanced Surgery’s annual market forecasts, coordinating with regional teams across the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific, developing the US forecast, and aligning assumptions with corporate finance. You will also lead bi annual market share and competitive landscape analyses, providing leadership with a clear, visual understanding of where Baxter competes and where future growth opportunities exist. You will be accountable for quarterly US market size and growth reporting, integrating multiple external data sources—such as SG2, IQVIA, DRG, and Premier—and validating trends against Baxter’s internal performance. These insights are widely used across marketing, strategy, and leadership forums and require both analytical rigor and strong judgment. The role includes hands on Premier analytics, with a focus on specialty level and utilization insights. You will analyze procedural volumes, product usage, and penetration by specialty and site of care, helping the organization understand how products are used in practice, where growth is occurring, and where unmet needs remain. This work supports both near term commercial decisions and longer term innovation and portfolio strategy. In addition, you will support M&A, licensing, and partnership evaluations, providing market sizing, competitive landscape assessments, and scenario modeling to inform investment and portfolio decisions. Across all areas, you will be expected to translate analysis into insight—building clear, executive ready narratives and presenting findings to cross functional stakeholders and senior leaders with confidence. What You’ll Bring Experience analyzing healthcare or medical device datasets such as Premier, SG2, DRG, IQVIA, or similar claims and utilization sources. Strong capability in Excel based modeling, forecasting, and market sizing. Working experience with SAS, R, or SPSS; SQL or Python Familiarity with medical coding, procedure based analytics, and claims or charge level data. A demonstrated ability to translate complex analyses into clear, strategic insights for executive audiences. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels. A proactive, intellectually curious mindset and comfort working independently on highly visible, recurring deliverables. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $152,000 - $209,000. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive.
