About The Position

ABOUT THE POSITION : The Role will be instrumental for shaping our long-term, ambitious growth strategy in United States. This role will provide strategic planning and critical business intelligence, working as an integral part of our commercial organization to support our success in key markets for energy storage, and support efforts to expand the market for energy storage into new segments and customer verticals. The role will be focused on the United States market. This will require you to develop a deep understanding of electricity markets, our customers, technical and commercial product requirements, as well as opportunities and entry barriers to help develop and shape our medium-term sales and product strategy. You will be working as part of the United States Sales & Commercial Team, responsible for sales strategy and planning, business and market intelligence, and market development. As an integral member of the commercial team, you will drive our commercial strategy, sales planning and forecasting, strategic marketing, external stakeholder communication and thought leadership. The energy storage industry changes monthly – this role will be crucial to meeting the needs of our customers today and in the future. This role will: Require the combination of deep market intelligence with detailed business insights and sales data to set the sales team’s strategic direction, while improving processes and manging the local implementation of key sales tools. Research, analyse and interpret market developments, providing critical business intelligence informing and shaping our commercial, product and digital strategy with a focus on the United States. Develop forward looking market forecasts and business case analysis to support decision making across the organization – procurement, product, sales, etc. Evaluate, implement, and manage the sales technology stack within the US sales team, including the customer relationship management (CRM) system. Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of sales data in the CRM. Collecting, analysing, and reporting on sales data to provide insights to sales managers and executives, helping them make informed decisions. Collaborate with sales, marketing product, digital, services and execution teams to define market and customer segmentation, creating and implementing go-to-market strategies, and defining product vision, positioning, pricing, and promotion. Lead regular efforts to integrate market knowledge, strategic insight and a strong customer focus to help our organization expand into new verticals and create great products to serve the market. Help develop onboarding and ongoing training materials for the sales representatives. Be a thought leader, proactively developing content and representing Fluence at industry events, closely working with our marketing team to position Fluence in the United States.

Requirements

  • The preferred candidate should have a minimum of an undergraduate degree, with a postgraduate degree or MBA preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the energy or clean tech sectors with a proven appitude for driving strategic efforts; and / or experience in a sales operations management role.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial drive for getting things done and a “whatever it takes” attitude.
  • Exhibit a forward leaning posture, high ownership, and diligent pursuit of new opportunities.
  • Proficiency in collecting, cleaning, and interpreting sales data, including expertise in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and business intelligence (BI) platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce, including managing, auditing, and ensuring the integrity of CRM data.
  • The ability to develop long-term sales strategies and define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in alignment with broader company objectives.
  • Ability to identify and eliminate bottlenecks within the sales funnel to improve efficiency and reduce friction for sales representatives.
  • Strong analytic skills with an ability to contextualize knowledge in new environments
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills required. The candidate should be capable of creating compelling arguments and communicating them to audiences composed of technical, commercial, and regulatory backgrounds.
  • Efficient and creative problem-solver who is mindful of business objectives and communication styles.
  • Eagerness to work in a collaborative, dynamic, and team-based environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
