We aspire for profound, large-scale impact on children ages zero to five. As the Senior Manager, Systems Engineering at Bezos Academy, you will lead the team responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving a secure, reliable, SaaS-first enterprise technology environment. This is a player-coach role: you will set direction and develop people, while also remaining hands-on in critical technical areas. To this role you should bring a combination of strong people leadership with hands-on technical depth, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft 365 for workplace productivity and Microsoft Entra ID as the backbone for identity, access governance, collaboration, and security. You will own foundational infrastructure across multi-site networking (Meraki) for 40 locations, endpoint and mobile device management, cloud integrations, and SaaS platform administration. You will also support enterprise AI enablement, ensuring AI capabilities are deployed with strong identity and data controls, operational readiness, and scalable support patterns. You will deliver outcomes through disciplined program and project management practices, partnering closely with IT, Information Security, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience in IT systems engineering, infrastructure, and operations with two or more years of people management experience
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Strong technical expertise with the full lifecycle management of Meraki networking (including procurement, provisioning, routing, wireless, network segmentation)
  • Experience with API scripting including PowerShell for systems integration and practical operational use (provisioning, automation, reporting)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience migrating between SaaS solutions
  • Comfort serving as an escalation point and hands-on technical lead for complex incidents and high-impact changes
  • Prior experience with CRMs, iPaaS/automation tools, MDMs, cloud infrastructure
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical decisions into stakeholder-ready language
  • Experience in leading-edge SaaS-first startup, or tech company environments with high ownership and speed of execution
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-site infrastructure and distributed environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Entra ID integrations and infrastructure scripting (PowerShell)
