In this position, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes across the La Grange facility. This role will play an integral part in driving improvements in machine and operator efficiencies while placing a focus on reducing unplanned downtime. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering or operations in a manufacturing environment

  • Understanding of PLC and CNC Programming, Lean tools, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions based on limited information and experience
  • Ability to interpret and clearly communicate complex information, often requiring persuasive communication
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience in Machining Applications, including CNC Programming, PLC Programing Tooling, Methods Development and Fixtures
  • Technical knowledge in statistical controls
  • Experience with SAP

Responsibilities

  • Identify, design, and implement machining process improvements using programs, Lean tools, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Leverage both change management & project management skills to plan, organize, and lead various capital improvement projects including equipment replacements and upgrades
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with external vendors related to assigned capital improvement projects
  • Troubleshoot and lead problem-solving activities to identify root cause issue and propose recommended solutions to both Plant and Division leadership teams
  • Proactively drive improvements related to the machining and material flow to support production
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage the installation and implementation of new equipment. Create programs and work holding fixtures, qualify new machines, and provide training to machine operators on new technologies.
  • Manage the documentation of both legacy and new manufacturing processes across the facility, including work instructions and standard operation procedures
  • Support standardized work definition as well as the workplace design under the consideration of MESH and LEAN requirements
  • Support production by enhancing site capabilities, safety, quality, and utilization
