About The Position

The Senior Market Development Manager focuses on growing consumer and business memberships through referrals. They provide financial guidance and promote deposit accounts and lending options for Credit Union members. They work to increase deposit and loan volume based on growth goals and budget. Additionally, they engage with the community, lead Credit Union events, and drive business development while fostering positive relationships and corporate growth.

Requirements

  • One-year financial services industry required.
  • Five years’ experience in field sales or sales management required.
  • NMLS registration upon hire.
  • Strong motivation for sales.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and territory.
  • Business development or external sales calling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership skills in team development.
  • Working knowledge of quality service components.
  • Knowledge of management techniques and strategies.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Ability to conduct formal presentations to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to analyze data, use good judgment and make sound decisions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to foster teamwork within the organization.
  • High self-motivation, results oriented with little supervision required.
  • Ability to effectively deal with all professional levels.
  • Ability to monitor and maintain expenses within budgetary guidelines.
  • Thorough business knowledge of the business lending industry.
  • Demonstrated secondary market skills and knowledge.
  • Knowledge of lending laws, regulations, policies, and compliance.
  • Ability to develop or improve loan products.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and maintain new members: Establish new Corporate Members and build relationships with Corporate Members’ management teams to highlight credit union benefits for employees. Collaborate with Branch Managers, business line partners, and the Regional VP to strengthen key regional connections and drive business initiatives.
  • Promote credit union products and services: Ensure member satisfaction and strong sales performance by expanding member product utilization through partnerships with MAs, CLOs, Indirect Advisors, Branch Managers, and UIP. Play a key role in onboarding Branch Managers to foster productive business and community relationships.
  • Engage with the community: Identify and lead regional community impact initiatives that will increase brand recognition and grow membership. Strengthen community impact through partnerships with Chambers of Commerce, credit union leagues, civic organizations, and attendance at relevant events.
  • Support marketing efforts: Partner with local branch management to implement regional marketing campaigns, identifying opportunities to activate broader initiatives.
