About the position

The position involves performing complex and advanced level support in the development and implementation of public information, public relations, and public education programs. The role includes supervising other staff on various projects. The salary for this position is negotiable based on experience, and the recruitment will establish an eligibility list for filling this vacancy and others in the same classification for a minimum of six months. Responsibilities

  • Plans, assigns, develops and implements strategic marketing, media relations, social media, advertising, digital communication and communication plans.
  • Suggests methods to accomplish the goals in the plans and implements them in a timely manner regarding RTC-related programs and issues for internal and external audiences.
  • Assigns and reviews work of staff on a project or team.
  • Assists in managing situations with public relations implications and develops timely responses to the media as needed.
  • Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of various media relations and public information programs associated with the assigned projects and delivery methods; makes recommendations accordingly.
  • Oversees the preparation and publication of printed materials, newsletters, etc.; oversees various media events and plans.
  • Composes articles, scripts, website content, talking points, presentations and brochures for internal and external use.
  • Represents the RTC in meetings with groups or individuals; answers queries and provides information/assistance as required.
  • Operates a variety of office equipment, including computers and associated software.
  • Conducts and independently completes a variety of special projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Supports executive leadership with presentation development, public relations, and other communications needs.
  • Participates in professional development sessions or seminars; stays current on trends, innovations and developments in the appropriate field.
  • Manages multiple projects/deliverables with short, targeted completion dates.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in communication, journalism, marketing or a closely related field.
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated professional public relations, marketing, or journalism experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class C Driver's License at time of application.
  • Employment is contingent upon the results of a comprehensive background investigation, including qualifying education/experience verification, social security trace, criminal history records review, and driving history records check.
