We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Marketing Manager, Competitive Intelligence, to join our growing Product Marketing team. At Anaplan, we are transforming the way organizations plan and operate by connecting people, data, and plans across the enterprise. Our platform powers decision-making across Finance, Supply Chain, Workforce, and Revenue Performance Management, enabling companies to move faster, operate more efficiently, and outperform their competitors. In this role, you will serve as a strategic leader responsible for developing and scaling Anaplan’s competitive intelligence program across our portfolio of applications. You will analyze market dynamics, competitive positioning, and industry trends to help shape product strategy, marketing messaging, and sales enablement. You will also support our analyst relations efforts by helping ensure consistent, compelling engagement with key industry analysts. As a key member of the Product Marketing team, you will partner closely with Product, Sales, Pre-Sales, and Sales Enablement to deliver competitive insights that sharpen market positioning, strengthen sales strategies, and increase win rates across Anaplan’s lines of business. This role is ideal for a strategic marketer who thrives on competitive strategy, storytelling, and translating market intelligence into clear actions that drive go-to-market success and revenue growth.

Requirements

  • 6–8+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, product marketing, solutions marketing, or strategy roles within B2B enterprise software
  • Deep understanding of the enterprise planning and EPM market, including platforms such as Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning, Oracle EPM Cloud Planning, Pigment, OneStream, Planful, or IBM Planning Analytics. Experience may come from hands-on implementation, model development, solution architecture, product marketing, or competitive strategy within these ecosystems.
  • Experience analyzing competitive landscapes in enterprise applications, cloud platforms, analytics, planning technologies, or adjacent markets
  • Strong ability to translate market and competitive insights into actionable messaging, positioning, and sales enablement assets
  • Excellent storytelling, writing, and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics into compelling narratives
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders including Product Management, Sales, and Marketing leadership
  • Highly analytical, curious, and proactive, with the ability to synthesize information quickly and communicate insights clearly
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-moving environments and can manage multiple priorities while delivering impactful results

  • Experience supporting analyst relations or engaging with industry analysts is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Sales-Focused Competitive Enablement
  • Partner closely with sales leadership to identify competitive gaps and improve win rates in strategic deals
  • Enable sales teams with tools and messaging to confidently articulate Anaplan’s differentiation throughout the sales cycle
  • Create competitive battlecards, win/loss insights, positioning frameworks, and sales playbooks that help field teams effectively position Anaplan against competitors
  • Monitor competitive landscapes, emerging vendors, and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks for Anaplan’s platform and applications
  • Shape Market Messaging and Positioning
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing and Solutions Marketing leaders to refine differentiated messaging and positioning across Anaplan’s applications and platform
  • Develop actionable insights that inform product strategy, messaging, and go-to-market priorities
  • Translate competitive insights into compelling narratives that strengthen Anaplan’s value proposition in key markets
  • Support Analyst Relations
  • Partner with the corporate analyst relations team to help drive engagement with leading industry analysts covering enterprise planning, supply chain, finance transformation, and revenue performance management
  • Support analyst briefings and inquiries with clear competitive narratives and supporting materials
  • Drive Cross-Functional Market Insights
  • Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, and Sales to provide competitive insights that support product roadmap decisions, campaigns, launches, and market expansion strategies
  • Support key initiatives such as product launches, industry campaigns, and strategic market positioning efforts
