About The Position

The primary role of Commercial Driver/Water Spider is to perform tasks with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Level 1 Commercial Driver/Water Spider starts at $00/hr with benefits.

Requirements

  • This role requires you to have and maintain a CDL
  • This role requires consistent physical activity throughout the shift, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with team assistance.
  • Work may involve repetitive motions and working in a fast-paced assembly line manufacturing environment
  • Employees must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day on hard surfaces.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and climbing may be required to access materials and operate equipment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times, and employees are expected to maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Stable work history with preferred 2 – 3 years of manufacturing experience.  Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proven problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Works well in a team environment with a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Process-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Assists co-workers in analyzing and correcting problems encountered in job assignments to perform work according to standard work procedures and instructions
  • Daily pallet jack inspection looking at the condition of the equipment to make sure there is no damage from previous shifts.
  • Run IGU report (ASN) information using Microsoft excel
  • Stage and Verify Morning value stream glass
  • Refill screw keep-fill locations to ensure lines have what they need daily.
  • Stage delivered glass in warehouse throughout the day when trucks arrive.
  • Check A-frame organization and labels outside to ensure all in order by line and labeled properly.
  • Stage afternoon value stream glass
  • Empty trash hopper and transport cardboard bins to receiving department as needed.
  • Stage turnover value stream glass before end of shift so the oncoming crew has what they need to get started.
  • Verify no empty glass skids are present and if empty get off the shop floor as needed.
  • Complete service IGU and deliver to shipping to ensure the shipments for glass only jobs get sent out on time.
  • Verify over-flow and clean out old glass daily
  • Support remakes as time permits
  • Move trailers in accordance with delivery and production needs to ensure OTIF and OTD
  • Operate a tractor trailer
  • Complete pre-inspection checklist prior to operating the tractor trailer
  • Learn duties and responsibilities of the material handler to help as needed
  • Overtime may be required, sometimes on short notice, to meet production goals.
  • Advancement opportunities are available, with a strong emphasis on promoting from within.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned by the Supervisor or Manager as needed to support operations.
