About The Position

The Senior Materials Expeditor Specialist expedites, routes, and dispatches material in accordance with production schedules. Supports daily warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, issuing, kitting, cycle counting, and preparing outbound shipments to internal production lines and external customers. This role operates in a DoD contractor environment and requires strict adherence to FAR/DFARS-compliant practices, export controls, and security requirements. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to quality, safety, and inventory accuracy. This position will be based at our Tucson, AZ office and is classified as a full-time, exempt, non-supervisory position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–2 years of experience in warehouse, inventory control, or materials handling (internships/entry-level acceptable).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; stand/walk for prolonged periods; work in a warehouse environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, basic math, and data entry accuracy; effective communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Prior DoD contractor, electro-optics, or aerospace/defense materials experience.
  • Basic proficiency with ERP or inventory systems (e.g., Costpoint, Oracle, SAP) and handheld scanners.
  • Experience with kitting to BOM, cycle counting, and inventory research.
  • ESD handling knowledge; HAZMAT awareness.
  • Familiarity with quality documentation (CoC, lot/serial traceability) and shipping paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Receive inbound materials against purchase orders; verify counts, part numbers, lot/serial, and condition.
  • Identify and segregate nonconforming material per QA instructions; route for MRB as required.
  • Apply appropriate labeling (e.g., part ID, lot/serial, date, shelf-life).
  • Perform systemized putaway following location control and barcoding standards.
  • Store ESD-sensitive items using safe handling practices and ESD-controlled areas.
  • Pick, stage, and deliver materials to work centers per work orders and BOMs.
  • Build production kits; validate counts and configuration; resolve shortages promptly.
  • Review production schedule to determine shortages to report to Planning.
  • Generate reports on completion dates, material changes and schedule modifications.
  • Execute cycle counts and assist with physical inventories; research variances.
  • Maintain accurate system transactions in ERP (receipts, moves, issues, adjustments).
  • Support audit readiness through documentation accuracy.
  • Pack and prepare domestic and international shipments per customer, carrier, and ITAR/EAR export requirements.
  • Generate shipping documentation and ensure data integrity.
  • Deliver parts between Tucson production sites when needed.
  • Follow company policies, and export control processes.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other equipment safely; maintain 5S standards.
