About The Position

Kranze Technology Solutions develops complex cutting-edge aircraft avionics hardware and software systems supporting survivability, situational awareness, and digital interoperability for the United States military. KTS is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design military grade components for aviation and ground use. Remote/teleworking is not available for this position. About Kranze Technology Solutions We are part of an SPX Technologies’ Communication Technologies platform in the Detection & Measurement business segment. KTS is focused in the defense industry specializing in Infrared Countermeasures (IRCM) systems, digital interoperability and networking, and program support for the US Navy, US Marine Corps, and Special Operations Command. We provide hardware and software product development, systems integration, system test and evaluation support, modeling and simulation analysis, and other engineering services to support the Warfighter. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with five or more years of work experience; Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with two or more years of work experience.
  • Proficient with ProE (preferred) or equivalent 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
  • Well-rounded knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance which requires a US Citizenship -sponsorship not available.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with military aircraft mechanical hardware integration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and generate assembly and manufacturing drawings for mechanical components ensuring to address Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Work closely with Systems and Electrical Engineering organization to address performance requirements such environmental and EMI/EMC considerations.
  • Support design, build and installation of mechanical components.
  • Work closely with the Operations and Quality teams to ensure proper build of assemblies.
  • Support proposal efforts to include budgetary and schedule estimates.
  • Support remote site surveys onboard aviation and ground vehicles as required.
  • Work closely with our Aircraft Integration Group (AIG) and Government engineers to identify potential installation locations and structural airframe requirements.
