Medica's Senior Medicaid Product Specialist supports the development, enhancement, and delivery of Medicaid products in collaboration with Product leadership and cross‑functional teams. This role leads complex product analysis, drives implementation efforts, and serves as a subject matter expert on Medicaid programs, regulations, and operational processes. The Specialist provides guidance and mentorship to other Product team members and helps ensure product performance, compliance, and operational readiness. Perform other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Medicaid programs, regulations, product development, and health plan operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience beyond degree
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and lead without formal authority

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex product analysis to evaluate performance, identify risks, and recommend improvements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Medicaid regulations, product strategy, and operational processes
  • Oversee development and implementation of new and existing Medicaid products in compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Provide informal leadership, direction, and technical guidance to Product staff
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to support initiatives and resolve product issues
  • Develop product documentation, workflows, and operational readiness materials
  • Conduct research on product challenges and market trends; recommend solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes
  • Support audits, regulatory filings, and state agency deliverables
  • Contribute to strategic planning and product roadmap development
