As a Senior Mining Technology Consultant, you will be at the core of both staffed and autonomous mining operations, partnering closely with clients, dealers, and internal teams to elevate safety, efficiency, and operational excellence at sites. Your work will directly influence how performance is evaluated, how new capabilities are tested, and how future MineStar solutions are shaped. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of MineStar by leading next generation of MineStar data management, and visualization tools. Requirements

  • Technical Excellence: Strong understanding of mining operations, MineStar reporting application, other reporting tools with the ability to translate operational reality into analytical and visual dashboards. Ability to clearly explain complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to influence decisions through data and logic. Advises others on the assessment and provision of all technical solutions. Engages appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues. Coaches others in promoting, defining, analyzing, and providing superior technical solutions to business problems.
  • Problem Solving: Uses varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate. Contributes to standard practices for problem-solving approaches, tools, and processes. Analyzes and synthesizes information and devises alternative resolution strategies. Develops successful resolutions to critical or wide-impact problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Customer Focus: Provides prompt and effective responses to client requests and interactions. Monitors client satisfaction levels on a regular basis and alerts own team to problems in client satisfaction. Differentiates the roles and responsibilities in a business relationship. Works with clients to address critical issues and resolve major problems.
  • Consulting: Explains the requirements, deliverables, and criticalities of the assignment. Participates in developing consulting opportunities or assignments. Uses formal and informal means to keep client informed on progress and issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Mining Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in mining operations
  • Experience in MineStar technology, MineStar Data Structure, Experience in Data warehouse and data visualization tools (e.g. MineStar Reporting, Power BI).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate standard and custom reports for our clients
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support broader initiatives with data analysis, modeling, and methodological guidance.
  • Develop performance metrics, and models that support consistent and reliable decision making.
  • Translate ambiguous business or operational problems into structured analytical approaches.
  • Advise customers on utilizing available data to unlock higher performance
  • Collaborate with internal product, engineering, and support teams to enhance technology offerings.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Caterpillar teams, dealers, and mining customers.
