About The Position

The Senior MTO Value Engineer – Thermal Spray Applications will be focused on driving standardization and systematic improvements to achieve 100% Yield in Thermal Spray in the GE Aerospace MRO network. This role is critical to support delivery to our customers. In the current MRO network, each shop has different processes for preparing parts for thermal spray, setting up equipment for the spray, measuring the coating results, and recording the data. This leads to a difference in yield, even on the same hardware and coating that leads to rework, increasing the delivery time for GE Aerospace customers. The thermal spray process is partially automated, and additional goal of this role will be to expand the usage of automation in the thermal spray booth. This could include additional robotics or cobots to eliminate operator input or improved fixturing that minimizes variation. This work could be done internally or contracted out to an external vendor. The role will require the ability to influence a global network to move to a common standard, integrate automation into a traditional manual process, and manage a complex project plan to achieve the 100% yield goal. The preferred location is at the GE Aerospace STAC in Springdale, OH USA, but internal candidates located at other GE Aerospace MRO facilities will also be considered. This role is expected to travel 25% to support the standardization. GE Aerospace offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation. GE Aerospace is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by law.
