About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain multiple ISP networks across multiple regions. This role focuses on routing, switching, and fiber access technologies including BGP, EVPN, MPLS, and GPON/XGS-PON, while ensuring high availability and strong network performance.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in ISP or service provider network engineering environments.
  • Expert-level understanding of BGP routing policies, IS-IS, EVPN, and MPLS.
  • Proficiency in Layer 2 technologies (VLANs, trunks, QinQ, private circuits).
  • Demonstrated experience managing fiber access networks and related transport systems.
  • Working knowledge of core IP services: DHCP, DNS, and IP address management (IPAM).
  • Familiarity with network automation frameworks and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • Proven ability to design and maintain highly available, redundant network topologies with a strong focus on meeting performance SLAs.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct hands-on experience with hardware and software from major vendors (e.g., Arista, Juniper, Cisco).
  • Experience with access network platforms (e.g., Calix, Adtran, Nokia).
  • Experience with specialized DDI platforms (e.g., Infobox, Bluecat, Efficient IP).

Responsibilities

  • Network Architecture & Management: Design, deploy, and manage multi-region ISP network infrastructure, focusing on scalability, reliability, and consistent service delivery.
  • Core Technology Expertise: Configure and maintain core routing and switching protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, EVPN (active-active), and Layer 2 private circuits (VLANs, trunks, QinQ).
  • Access Network Support: Optimize and support fiber access technologies, specifically GPON and XGS-PON.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure high network availability and uptime by managing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and performance metrics.
  • Network Services: Administer and troubleshoot critical IP services, including DHCP, DNS, and IP address management.
  • Automation: Develop and implement network automation solutions using scripting languages like Python and frameworks such as Ansible.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams.
  • Collaboration & Escalation: Collaborate with NOC and field teams for service delivery and incident resolution, and participate in an on-call rotation for high-level network escalations.

  • Ringgold Telephone Company 401(k) Plan – After a 12-month waiting period eligible employees can participate in the plan. With a minimum employee pre-tax contribution of 2%, the Company contributes 8% to the plan. Funds are managed at American Funds.
  • Short Term Disability – On the 8th day of an illness, short- term disability begins. The benefit pays 70% of weekly earnings to a maximum of $1,500 per week. Maximum period of payment is 13 weeks for short- term disability. This benefit is free to the employee. This plan is managed by Mutual of Omaha.
  • Long Term Disability – When short-term disability ends, and still not returned to work, long term disability begins. The benefit pays 66-2/3% of weekly earnings to a maximum benefit of $12,500 per month. . Payment is received on a monthly basis for long-term disability instead of weekly as with short-term. This benefit is free to the employee. This plan is managed by Mutual of Omaha.
  • Group Life Insurance – The Company provides life insurance coverage at no cost to eligible employees. The amount of coverage is 3 times your annual salary. Spouse is covered for $10,000. Dependent Children have coverage of $5000 up to age 26 based upon policy provisions. This is free to the employee, spouse, and children with coverage as described. This plan is managed by Mutual of Omaha
  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment – The Company provides this coverage with benefits identical to the Group Life, however, benefits are only paid if death is a result of an accident. This benefit would be in addition to the proceeds from the regular Group Life policy. This is free to the eligible employee. This plan is managed by Mutual of Omaha.
  • Identity Fraud Protection Policy – The Company provides this coverage for expenses brought about by being the victim of identity fraud. This is free to the eligible employee.
  • Elective Life Insurance – Each eligible new employee has the opportunity to purchase life insurance that is in addition to the Company provided policies. The additional insurance is offered to employees, spouse and dependents at group rates, with premiums being payroll deducted. This is offered on a strictly voluntary basis. This plan is managed by Mutual of Omaha.
  • Educational Assistance Program – After six months, the eligible employee may request to participate in the Education Assistance Program. After successful completion per semester at accredited colleges, universities, technical schools, or home-study courses, the Program will provide employees with reimbursement of 100 percent of tuition and required textbook costs, registration and graduation fees for courses pre-approved by the Company. Successful completion means that the employee has passed with a grade of “B” or better from the training entity.
