Millennium Space Systems (MSS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer (Level 5) to join the MSS team in El Segundo, CA! We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This pivotal role will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our organization's network infrastructure. The IT Network Engineer will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of our network operations. This position requires a deep understanding of networking principles, hands-on experience with complex network environments, and strong problem-solving capabilities. Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.)
  • Experienced with multi-vendor switching and routing (e.g., Juniper, Cisco, Dell)
  • Experience with Quality of Service (QOS), routing and switching protocols
  • Experience with Palo Alto next generation firewall systems
  • Experience deploying and maintaining VPN technologies (e.g., IPsec, SSL VPN, Azure ExpressRoute)
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks Panorama
  • Active IAT Level 2 certifications per DoD Instruction 8570 (8140)
  • This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible)
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark)
  • Experience with cloud networking environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Knowledge of wireless networking standards and technologies
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) or higher
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or higher
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and implement robust, scalable, and secure network architectures, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud networking solutions
  • Manage network security, including firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control
  • Lead the deployment of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers
  • Ensure network resilience and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies
