Senior Node.JS Engineer (Stellar Ecosystem / DeFi Infrastructure)
About The Position
We are looking for multiple Senior Backend Engineers to design, build, and scale backend systems powering a multi-chain DeFi infrastructure with a strong focus on the Stellar ecosystem. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who combines deep TypeScript expertise with production-grade blockchain experience. You will architect robust, scalable backend services that handle high transaction volumes while maintaining security and reliability. The position requires strong system design thinking, performance optimization skills, and hands-on experience in decentralized environments. You will collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality API-driven solutions. This is a fully remote opportunity for experienced blockchain engineers located in EMEA or APAC.
Requirements
- Must be located in EMEA
- Strong professional experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience working with the Stellar network in production environments
- Solid blockchain understanding (EVM or other ecosystems is a plus)
- Extensive experience in senior-level backend engineering roles
- Strong knowledge of document databases (e.g., MongoDB) and caching mechanisms (e.g., Redis)
- Experience in software design and distributed system architecture
- Strong familiarity with testing frameworks and backend best practices
- Ability to write scalable, production-grade code
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Proactive and autonomous working style
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Stellar’s Soroban smart contracts
- Experience in EVM-based ecosystems
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and GitOps workflows
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend systems and APIs
- Architect and implement robust solutions capable of handling growing user loads
- Optimize system performance and identify architectural bottlenecks
- Maintain high coding standards and conduct thorough code reviews
- Implement monitoring, debugging, and observability tools to ensure high availability
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test suites (unit, integration, e2e)
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture
- Document technical processes, APIs, and architectural decisions
