About The Position

Overview Job Summary Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Operations Research Analyst to join our innovative and mission-focused team. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse and talented group of professionals dedicated to advancing national security space capabilities. Space Safari is looking for a Senior Operations Research Analyst to support a wide range of special projects and Tactically Responsive Space (TacRS) missions. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical, operational, and acquisition expertise to rapidly plan, integrate, and execute responsive space activities spanning spacecraft, ground systems, launch operations, and on-orbit mission execution.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with SAP Access.
  • 10+ years of experience in large space program acquisition, systems engineering, or space operations
  • 3+ years of experience specifically in space operations or operations support roles
  • 8+ years of experience working with National Security Space ground systems, spacecraft, and/or launch systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to brief senior leaders and mission partners
  • Ability and willingness to work inside U.S. Government facilities
  • Familiarity with rapid acquisition approaches such as SBIR and OTA
  • Master's degree in Astro/aeronautical, mechanical, systems engineering, or computer science

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate TacRS missions, including spacecraft integration, ground systems, launch activities, logistics, and on-orbit operations
  • Conduct mission analysis, mission planning, CONOPS development, and readiness exercises
  • Coordinate daily with government customers, mission partners, and industry stakeholders to ensure mission alignment and rapid execution
  • Manage the RPO technical baseline and lead integration of spacecraft buses, payloads, ground components, software, and mission systems
  • Maintain technical risk registers and develop/execute risk mitigation strategies
  • Provide technical assessments of space, ground, and operational architectures
  • Identify system performance data needs, support system sustainment planning, and contribute to C2 and mission planning software development
  • Develop acquisition requirements and documentation for rapid procurement pathways (e.g., SBIR, OTA)
  • Lead technical proposal evaluations, participate in source selections, and ensure solutions meet mission requirements
  • Assist with financial documentation (Form 9, MIPR) and track program cost, schedule, and performance
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and component providers to drive execution and meet delivery timelines
  • Support negotiations regarding scope, pricing, and technical requirements
  • Apply knowledge of Joint War fighting Concepts, CCMD processes, and operational planning frameworks (DIME, OODA Loop, JPP)
