About The Position

Job Summary: The Senior Operator will be responsible for maintaining equipment efficiency and ensuring material availability associated with running a production line. Their work is to be consistent with established standards by performing the duties personally or through subordinate employees.

Requirements

  • Average math skills
  • Ability to read and interpret company documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels
  • Ability to use hand tools to perform repairs and setups
  • Mechanical or machine operation experience required
  • Experience with Ishida Scales, setting up recipes and settings
  • Experience with Ishida Checkweighers, setting up recipes and settings
  • Experience with date coders
  • Attend all food safety training sessions (GMP, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Food Facility Security, Preventing Foodborne Illness)
  • Participate in company GMP walks
  • Enforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoring
  • Operate standard office equipment
  • Active position that requires standing continuously, walking frequently, sitting occasionally, reaching, and bending
  • Able to operate industrial equipment and company specific equipment.
  • Associate must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Supervisor on production floor tasks and supervision
  • Maintain all equipment to ensure efficient running
  • Adjust equipment to maximize line effectiveness
  • Escalate issues to the Production Supervisor and or the Maintenance Manager in the event any piece of the equipment at the line is not performing correctly
  • Report any non-critical machine deficiencies to Maintenance as needed
  • Supply all materials to each employee at the line when required to do so
  • Train all employees on tasks as needed
  • Enforce company rules regarding safety, discipline, cooperation and teamwork
  • Attend selected meetings
  • Perform line setups
  • Check production traceability reports
  • Check production reporting (lot codes, backflush, relocations, physicals)
  • Attend facility safety meetings monthly.
  • Submit reports on any accidents or near-miss situations.
  • Verify Lockout Tagout throughout the shift
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management
