Senior Oracle Database Software Engineer (Onsite)

About the position

Raytheon is hiring a Senior Oracle Database Software Engineer to support our teams in Aurora, CO. Raytheon provides end-to-end space solutions – from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors – to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threat. Each day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms, they process all of the bits and bytes received and turn them into usable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Work as a Database engineer with a team of skilled Software Engineers developing Satellite Ground Stations Software.
• Perform software development of large-scale database solutions.
• Troubleshoot and fix complex software problems.
• Performance tuning of database objects and queries.
• Installation, patching, and upgrades of Oracle Database Software.

Requirements

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior, relevant experience.
• Experience with Oracle 19c RAC Database Administration.
• Experience with BASH or other similar scripting language.
