About The Position

The Senior Paint Process Engineer/Tech Support will work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. Skilled in equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative are exercised as well as independent judgment. Will be responsible for a small crew of GM UAW hourly employees.

Requirements

• 4 years of experience in paint equipment, applications and troubleshooting using robotic equipment.
• Ability to manage a small group of hourly UAW employees.
• Leadership experience
• Experience working as a Paint Process Engineer or Paint Equipment Installer
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Capable of working all shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
• Journeyman's card
• Skilled Trades experience
• 5+ years of experience in paint equipment, applications and troubleshooting using robotic equipment

Responsibilities

• SORs and project management for tools, stations or specific technologies
• Typically, part of a larger effort or project
• Manufacturing process definition
• Sequence of operations
• Support human factors consideration.
• Support efficient material flow.
• Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts.
• Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
• Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology
