Primary Location: United States (US) - North Carolina - Cary Function: Product Engineering (CA) Title: Senior PE Control System Engineer - 118698 Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position Your Responsibilities As a Senior PE Control System Engineer for JD Intelligent Solutions located in Cary, NC, or Fargo, ND you will: Develop advanced electrification control solutions at both component and system levels for a broad range of applications using a model-based design approach. Evaluate control designs through analysis, simulation, Hardware in the loop (HIL) testing, laboratory testing, and field testing. Conduct electric drive and vehicle system simulations to support control system development and vehicle performance assessment. Interface with stakeholders to develop control system requirements that support vehicle electrification solutions. Mentor other control and software developers in design, modeling, simulation, and testing practices. VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience in advanced power electronics and/or control algorithm development
  • 5 or more years of simulation experience in power electronics, electric machines, vehicle drivetrain, and/or control systems
  • 3 or more years of hands-on testing experience with power electronics, electric motors, and/or vehicle drivetrains
  • Advanced skills in MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Relevant academic research experience will be equally considered
  • Ability to travel up to 25% based on business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree with a focus on power electronics and/or control systems.
  • Experience with advanced power electronics control and electric motor control.
  • Experience with Dynamic System Modeling (DSM)
  • Experience with Hardware in the Loop testing
  • Experience with auto-code generation and embedded software implementation on microcontrollers and/or FPGAs
  • Experience with advanced control techniques such as observer, model predictive control, etc.
  • Experience with advanced digital signal processing schemes such as filter design
  • Experience with hybrid and/or fully electric vehicle applications
  • Experience with advanced research topics
  • Experience with power electronics hardware or software design

Responsibilities
