You will get a chance to contribute to innovative product ideas that tackle challenges within massive-scale cloud storage environments. These new storage systems will allow our largest customers to meet the demands of AI and hyperscale workloads. You will be building innovative solutions using flash storage technologies and software. WHAT YOU'LL DO Collaborate with a team of motivated engineers to build and review performance benchmarking requirements and metrics to ensure the storage solutions deliver the best performance on the platforms they run on Research and develop performance benchmarking and debugging strategies, come up with best practices for performance planning and collaborate with product managers, solutions and sales engineering to validate customer scenarios and requirements as needed Analyze challenging system performance issues, and recommend solutions to improve and optimize We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Requirements

  • MS in Computer Science or related technical field, BS with comparable experience
  • 3+ years of experience in system level performance testing for servers, storage and databases
  • Experience in systems performance analysis using techniques like CPU profiling, tracing and standard Linux tools
  • Experience in running benchmarks, analyzing results, communicating your findings to development teams
  • Extensive knowledge of operating system, scheduling policies, locking primitives, data structures, x86 hardware architecture
  • Strong experience with Linux systems (network configuration, storage stack, system settings, common command/utilities)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Python and C++ is preferred
  • Prior experience with NAND flash and FIO are pluses
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; commitment to delivering great software and releasing it efficiently and with increasing quality
