Position Summary The role of the Certified Pharmacy Technician -Senior reports to the Director of Pharmacy. This position, under close supervision of a registered pharmacist, assists the pharmacist in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records as assigned within their scope of practice.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- Registration with the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy, National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT), required.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory of medication and supply orders, including placing orders with vendors
- Produce purchasing reports and distribute to appropriate personnel
- Partner with payroll to ensure all information is submitted in a timely manner
- Manages inventory of automated dispensing cabinets
- Deliver medications to nursing stations and other patient care areas
- Refill and manage inventory of emergency kits
- Repack medications for hospital use
- Perform medication histories
- Complete required documentation to meet state and federal laws
