About The Position

ETAP, a member of Schneider Electrical Energy Management Software Division, is seeking a senior power system software engineer with extensive knowledge of design, modeling and analysis of power system transients, electrical machines, harmonics, short-circuit, and power electronics. Requirements

• Experience in modeling and analysis of power system load flow, dynamics, short-circuit or stability analysis engines.
• Capabilities to research, design and testing of various power system simulation models.
• Ability to follow various industrial standards and write specifications.
• Ability to program in mathematical computation language such as Fortran, C++ and C#.
• Highly motivated, self-managed, detail-oriented and well organized.
• Good mathematical problem solving and analytical skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot software algorithm problems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• PhD or MS Degree in Power System Engineering or Electrical Machinery with graduate work on simulation software. MS in computer science with a strong understanding of electrical systems and 5+ years of experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

• Desirable to have experience in unbalanced power system modeling, electromagnetic transients and power electronics.
• Desirable to have experience using power system simulation software such as ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, Power World, EMTP, PSCAD

Responsibilities

• Research, design, write specifications and prototype various power system algorithms and device models.
• Support and develop electrical engineering simulation engines such as load flow, short circuit, harmonics, transient stability etc.
• Design algorithms, numerical methods, and high-performance software in C++.
• Collaborating with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications.
