About The Position

Amazon is inventing at the frontier of computing—developing foundational AI models, designing custom silicon, and pioneering quantum technologies that will define the next era of computation. We're seeking a high-judgment communications professional to join our team. For over a decade, Amazon has designed custom chips that power cloud infrastructure and AI workloads at massive scale. What began with the 2015 acquisition of Annapurna Labs has grown into a $10+ billion business. Today, Graviton processors run applications for 90% of AWS's largest customers and Trainium chips train frontier AI models including one of the world's largest AI supercomputers. Amazon’s custom silicon has become foundational infrastructure reshaping cloud economics—and we're building the quantum systems that will define computing's next chapter. As Senior PR Manager, you'll shape how customers, media, policymakers, and the industry understand Amazon's leadership in advanced computing hardware. You'll translate chip architecture breakthroughs, quantum research advances, and large-scale deployments into clear, credible stories—from major launches to customer wins to long-term research. The ideal candidate will have experience building proactive PR programs in deeply technical domains; navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments; and translating R&D into accessible narratives. You'll leverage earned, owned, and social media to amplify our innovations while maintaining the technical credibility essential in hardware and deep tech communications. Being flexible in managing ambiguity as priorities shift—from product launches to research breakthroughs to competitive positioning—will be key. About the team This role is part of the communications team supporting Amazon's investments in foundational AI models, custom silicon, and quantum computing, within Amazon's Global Communications and Community Impact organization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Track record delivering technology storytelling campaigns in enterprise hardware, software, semiconductors, cloud infrastructure, or advanced research
• High judgment in narrow timeframes, especially balancing transparency with competitive sensitivity
• Self-driven and entrepreneurial in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
• Experience preparing technical experts as spokespeople

Responsibilities

• Translate complex chip design, systems architecture, and quantum research into compelling narratives for technical and general audiences
• Partner closely with chip architects, quantum scientists, and business leaders on product launches, strategic announcements, and thought leadership
• Prepare engineers and scientists as credible, spokespeople who can represent our technical work externally
• Work across Amazon and AWS communications teams to coordinate messaging and amplify our hardware story
• Build proactive media strategies that showcase customer impact, technical differentiation, and our long-term roadmap
