About The Position

Now Hiring: Senior Press Brake Operator Milton ManufacturingLocation: Detroit, MI Are you a skilled Press Brake Operator who enjoys programming, problem‑solving, and building high‑quality metal components? Do you take pride in precision work and helping others grow? If so, we want to meet you. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Press Brake Operator to join our fabrication team. In this role, you’ll operate, set up, and program CNC press brake equipment while serving as a mentor to less‑experienced operators. You’ll work with a variety of metals, produce accurate formed components, and help maintain efficient, safe, and high‑quality production.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with CNC press brake controls (Cincinnati, Mitsubishi, Pullmax preferred)
  • Proven ability to set up tooling, dies, and back gauges
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Solid understanding of metal forming characteristics across various materials
  • Proficiency with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, angle gauges)
  • Basic math, geometry, and trigonometry skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of CNC press brake programming, setup, and operation
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work for extended periods
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle heavier materials with assistance

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training in metal fabrication preferred

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC press brakes
  • Train and mentor junior and mid‑level operators
  • Select tooling, set up dies and gauges, and ensure proper machine configurations
  • Perform first-article inspections and routine quality checks using calipers, protractors, height gauges, etc.
  • Review engineering drawings and specifications to produce accurate, high‑quality components
  • Document quantities, scrap, downtime, and other production metrics
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve fitment or fabrication issues
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organized work area
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as needed
