Requirements

  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience, required
  • At least eight years of technical leadership (e.g., senior architect, engineering manager) experience required
  • Experience leading or contributing to modern data platform transformations required
  • Experience designing and implementing multilayered data architectures required
  • Experience building or leading an ingestion framework required
  • Hands-on experience with cloud storage required; AWS experience preferred
  • Experience orchestrating data workflows using Airflow or Dagster, including running dbt workloads, required
  • Expertise in SQL and deep data modeling required
  • Familiarity with lakehouse patterns and platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks required
  • Familiarity with modern data ecosystem tooling such as data governance and observability required
  • A commitment to working on-site at Gallup’s Omaha office at least three days per week required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on AI-adjacent data needs where data quality and reproducibility matter is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical vision and architecture for Gallup’s data and intelligence platform to support analytics, science and future AI use cases while maintaining backward compatibility
  • Lead the design and delivery of Gallup’s data lake, including centralized storage, standardized processing and analytics-ready data layers
  • Design automated, reliable data pipelines that replace manual and file-based workflows across product, analytics and research teams
  • Establish standards and best practices for data modeling, data quality, pipeline monitoring and schema evolution
  • Partner with product, research, operations and engineering leaders to translate business needs into scalable data foundations
  • Improve data reliability, reuse and observability to reduce processing time and operational friction
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers, upleveling skills and modern data working practices
