About the position
GliaCell is seeking a Senior/Principal Frontend UI/UX Engineer on one of our subcontracts. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to support a U.S. Government customer. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission-related software and systems to a large government contract. Our engineers were certainly tired of the same. Responsibilities
- Transition a legacy python application into a modern web app.
- Work closely with customers and PMs to understand, design, and create new user interfaces using NextJS.
- Ensure that code is well written for code intellisense and maintainability.
- Conduct code reviews to stay informed of changes from the frontend and backend code.
- Have a general understanding of docker to ensure deployments into different systems can be performed.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship.
- 14 to 20+ years of experience.
- Bachelor’s in computer science (or related field) or 18 years without the degree.
- Works well independently as well as on a team.
- Strong communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Python (helpful for assisting backend devs with code reviews).
