About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Partner to join our Commodity Management team supporting electronics and structural supply categories. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Staff Procurement Partners, Engineering, Quality, and Contract Manufacturers to execute sourcing strategies that enable IonQ’s advanced hardware programs. You will play a key role in developing competitive sourcing packages, contributing to commercial negotiations, and ensuring disciplined procurement execution during a critical phase of company growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in direct materials procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain within electronics or structural manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BOM structures.
  • Experience supporting supplier negotiations and operating within MRP or ERP-driven environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within a commodity management or category management structure.
  • Background in electronics manufacturing services, PCBA, machining, or structural fabrication sourcing.
  • Demonstrated cost analysis and value engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction and fast-paced build cycles.
  • Knowledge of supplier risk assessment, capacity planning, and mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with quality or export compliance considerations in regulated environments.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder alignment skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner within the Commodity Management team to support development and refinement of sourcing strategies for electronics and structural components.
  • Review engineering drawings and BOMs to develop structured RFQ and RFP packages for PCBAs, electronic assemblies, machined components, and structural parts.
  • Conduct cost analysis, benchmark comparisons, and support supplier negotiations related to pricing, lead times, and commercial terms.
  • Evaluate supplier capability, capacity, and scalability relative to forecasted demand and identify sourcing risks.
  • Provide delegated coverage for defined suppliers or programs to ensure continuity of commercial and operational oversight.
  • Support purchase order execution, monitor delivery performance, and proactively escalate supply or quality risks.
  • Ensure sourcing activities align with quality, regulatory, and export compliance requirements.
