Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance. Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians. Trade tensions. Donald Trump. Canada’s beleaguered relationship with the United States. Add it all up and there’s rarely been a more important time to help our audience understand what’s going on south of the border. We’re looking for an exceptional leader and accomplished journalist to keep on top of it all and lead CBC News’ coverage of the United States. As the Senior Producer of Assignment, based in Washington, D.C., you will oversee CBC News bureaus in Washington and New York. Our two countries share more than the largest international border. From continental and transatlantic defence obligations; to arts and culture; to national security, technology and the economy the two countries are inextricably linked. In this role, you will lead on creating coverage plans that help Canadians make sense of their place in this new dynamic at a pivotal time. Reporting to the Executive Producer of World News, you make sure CBC News is offering the best in video, audio and text journalism to new and existing audiences, live and on demand. You bring an intelligent curiosity to the role everyday as you work to identify, develop and coordinate both daily coverage and special events. You know collaboration is key to the newsroom’s success. You’re a critical link between CBC News and the journalists you support. You work closely with the Executive Producers and other leadership to manage deployments, prioritizing the physical and mental well-being of employees. You have an in-depth knowledge of CBC's Journalistic Standards and Practices, ensuring newsgatherers are providing fair, balanced, accurate, thoughtful and immediate coverage. You’ll work with colleagues across the CBC News division and Radio-Canada, sharing both content and expertise across platforms and programs .
