The API Management Platforms team at Google is dedicated to building and enhancing what powers Google's vast ecosystem of APIs and supports the burgeoning development of AI-powered Agents. As a Product Manager on the API Management Platform team, you will be pivotal in shaping the strategy, roadmap, and execution for Google's core infrastructure supporting APIs and intelligent agents. Our platforms enable Google product teams to efficiently design, build, deploy, secure, and manage APIs at scale, fostering a consistent, reliable, and developer-friendly experience across Google Cloud and beyond. This role is essential for cultivating a robust API ecosystem and managing platform adoption by both internal Google service producers and external developers, including those building and deploying AI agents. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
• 5 years of experience in product management, with a focus on platform products, APIs, or developer tools.

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
• Familiarity with industry-standard API protocols (e.g., OpenAPI, gRPC) and API security best practices.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams in a changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Define and advocate the product roadmap for APIs management platforms, prioritizing features that align with overarching Google Cloud strategies.
• Translate market research and customer needs into actionable product specifications, comprehensive user guides, and precise APIs interface definitions.
• Partner with engineering, user experience, and internal Google teams to understand API needs, drive alignment, and facilitate seamless platform integration.
• Deliver a high-quality, self-service platform with extensibility, ensuring an exceptional developer experience that promotes API-first development.
• Synthesize and apply concepts in AI/ML, large language models, or agent-based systems.
