About The Position

TSC is seeking a Senior Production Operations Manager to lead our growing Department of Defense (DoD) programs in Huntsville, AL. This position oversees complex manufacturing efforts, including custom antennas, RF systems, embedded software, and other advanced defense technologies. The ideal candidate will drive production efficiency, quality, delivery performance, and operational growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 8+ years of experience managing production, operations, or engineering teams.
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing, including SMT, through-hole, cable assembly, and box-build production.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards.
  • Experience with SIOP execution, KPI development, and cross-functional coordination across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives with strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and/or PMP certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Experience leading Kaizen, Lean, or Six Sigma improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with Costpoint, Factory Logix, and Teamcenter.
  • Background in cost accounting, lab management, or scaling production/start-up operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop production teams, including planning, quality, materials, and supplier coordination functions.
  • Manage suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery.
  • Oversee material flow, production scheduling, and resource planning to support program execution.
  • Implement Lean and Six Sigma best practices to improve throughput, eliminate bottlenecks, and increase efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, ITAR, and CUI requirements.
  • Develop and manage the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to improve forecasting accuracy and capacity planning.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, yield, cycle time, and production cost.
  • Partner with engineering teams to drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) improvements and production readiness.
  • Leverage ERP/MES/PLM systems to support data-driven decision-making and operational reporting.
  • Support pricing strategy, financial tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
