Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred but will consider an equivalent combination of education/work experience.
  • One to two years related leadership experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
  • An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants to succeed in programming goals.
  • Contribute to the growth of assigned departments.
  • Develop, implement and promote successful programs to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
  • As the main face of wellness, the Senior Program Director should build relationships with members, and support staff, be positive, friendly, and helpful.
