About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Project Finance Specialist in the United States. This role is responsible for managing the financial health of assigned clinical trials from startup through closeout, ensuring accuracy in budgets, revenue recognition, provider payments, and sponsor invoicing. You will act as both an operator and trusted advisor, partnering closely with clinical teams to align financial processes with trial operations. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) and study finance, with a proactive approach to identifying risks, resolving issues, and improving processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to mentor others while contributing to the overall financial infrastructure. You will thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment where your work directly supports the delivery of high-quality clinical research and patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years managing clinical trials in a Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
  • Strong understanding of clinical research budgets, financial principles, and study finance processes.
  • Experience with invoicing, cash application, accounts receivable follow-up, and vendor fee management.
  • Proficiency in clinical systems, tools, and metrics with a focus on CTMS oversight.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and provide guidance to junior team members.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of research experience in CTMS and prior customer-facing or stakeholder communication experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial management for assigned clinical trials, including budget review, contract interpretation, invoicing, and cash application.
  • Monitor all trial-related financial activity, perform revenue analysis, and track accounts receivable aging.
  • Manage provider payments and patient stipends, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Lead CTMS oversight, supporting site staff, managing scheduling parameters, and ensuring accurate system data.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to align financial processes with operational workflows and share best practices.
  • Mentor and onboard staff, provide technical guidance, and contribute to audits and special projects.
  • Identify risks or leakage in financial workflows and implement process improvements.
