Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans. Effective communicator and project leader accountable for the lifecycle project management of multiple complex projects and programs that impact multiple functional areas. Assembles and leads the project Core Team through the development, execution, monitoring, controlling and close out project phases. Identifies, secures, coordinates and coaches internal and external resources necessary to manage the project or program and meet the objectives. Proactively engages with project Governance and key stakeholders ensuring appropriate communications occur. Provides detailed and accurate status reporting on safety, cost and schedule performance. Resolves project issues with contractors and other stakeholders that may impede successful execution of project activities. Ensures compliance with internal and external regulations. Develops and implements improvements to CPC project management processes, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistently high quality performance results. You’ll engage with a wide range of internal partners—including Engineering, Operations, HSE, Technology, Procurement, Asset Integrity, the Control Center, Shared Services, Legal, Treasury, Scheduling, and even the Board of Directors. Externally, you will collaborate with engineering firms, construction contractors, environmental consultants, government agencies, industry peers, and more. Requirements

  • Bachelor ’ s Degree in Engineering or other related fields of study from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of education and experience.
  • Ideally, 7+ years of project management experience in oil/gas or related industry OR 10+ years senior project management experience in any industry.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Solid foundation in PMBOK knowledge areas.
  • Awareness of relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.
  • Leadership strengths in influencing, negotiation, planning, and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication—verbal, written , and listening .
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and drive results.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years oil/gas industry experience or 5+ years oil/gas project management.
  • Experience managing projects > $10M.
  • Experience presenting to executive or board level audiences.
  • Preferred: PMP Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Own and Lead the Entire Project Lifecycle Champion and guide multiple complex projects/programs from initiation through closeout
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, quality criteria, and performance metrics.
  • Establish governance structures, project charters, execution plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead and mentor the cross functional core team, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and alignment on goals.
  • Drive Performance and Clear Communication Deliver accurate and timely reporting on cost, schedule, safety, risks, and milestones.
  • Manage project changes, decision records, approvals, and documentation.
  • Resolve issues with contractors and stakeholders that may affect delivery.
  • Champion Improvement and Best Practices Advise the Director of Central Projects on enhancements to tools, processes, and methodologies.
  • Lead special initiatives to advance project management maturity.
  • Ensure Compliance and Operational Excellence Partner with internal teams for Pre Startup Safety Review and Management of Change.
  • Execute lessons learned capture and ensure proper closeout with business partners such as Accounting.
  • Represent Colonial professionally with external stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, regulators, and customers.
