Reporting to the Director of Payer Finance and Strategy, the Senior Project Manager, Payer Contracting plays a key role in leading and overseeing projects and programs related to the goals of the Payer Contracting and Performance department. The Payer Contracting and Performance Department is responsible for negotiating multi-million-dollar agreements on behalf of DFCI with all health insurance payors. This position combines administrative and strategic responsibilities, and the individual must be capable of pivoting between different projects successfully to advance work in the department. The Senior Project Manager creates and maintains project structure and develops material to drive large-scale organizational change. They will work on multiple highly complex projects simultaneously, including: payer network integration given DFCI’s clinical affiliations with Brigham & Women’s and Beth Israel Lahey Health; planning for new hospital service lines and inpatient considerations; supporting payer negotiations, and service-line strategic initiatives (e.g. contracting for cellular therapies, new pharmaceutical products, etc). In addition, the position will be responsible for the ongoing review of payer policies and market trends, and all other duties in support of the Director of Payer Finance & Strategy and the Vice President of Payer Contracting & Performance. The Senior Project Manager, Payer Contracting must be capable of independently managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines and thrive collaborating with team members and others at varying levels of the organization. The position will require researching and presenting internally on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, payer contract negotiations, plan policies and guidelines, and other critical matters as needed to support the goals of the department and the organization.
