About The Position

VCC is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large scale commercial construction projects from bid through completion for the Kansas City, MO market. VCC is a nationally recognized, debt-free general contractor with projects in all 50 states and a history of ENR Top 100 rankings. Our Project Managers ensure all contract requirements and paperwork are in order and provide the knowledge, skills and experience working with subcontractors to ensure projects run smoothly. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience with multi-million dollar commercial construction projects.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Strong organization, time-management, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Located in Kansas City, MO
  • Willing to travel as needed

Responsibilities

  • Reviews pricing, bids and confirms accuracy of material, equipment, and production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and validity.
  • Prepares bids for distribution to market. Includes drawings, specifications, test reports, and other exhibits that may be required.
  • Qualify subcontractors prior to award.
  • Reviews bids from subcontractors for conformity to contract requirements and recommends acceptable bids.
  • Negotiates contract scope and value with bidder.
  • Recommends awards and administers subcontracts.
  • Processes subcontractor change orders.
  • Requests or approves amendments to or extensions of contracts.
  • Advises scheduling of contractual rights and obligations.
  • Compiles data for preparing estimates.
  • Reviews all correspondence concerning subcontractors and responds as necessary.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with subcontractors to ensure the smooth working of the contract awarding process.
  • Act as liaison between company and subcontractors, clients and owners.
  • Act as liaison with accounting on subcontractor payments.
  • Conduct/lead project meetings.
  • Play an active role with project scheduling.
  • Other duties as assigned.
