About The Position

The Senior Project Manager (Building Official, P.E. or AIA) is responsible for leading and delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects from initiation through closeout. Operating in a dynamic and technical environment, this role manages all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery to ensure outcomes align with scope, budget, and timeline, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and senior leadership, the Senior Project Manager plays a critical role in supporting operationalexcellence, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to continuous improvement and business development efforts.

Requirements

  • A licensed Building Official with the State of Florida (CBO) or A licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or A licensed Registered Architect (AIA)
  • 7+ years of progressive project management experience, preferably within engineering, environmental, or construction industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex, and high-impact projects in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience managing project financials, contracts, and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to travel to job sites and regional offices as needed.
  • Self-directed, highly organized, and capable of managing competing priorities in a matrixed or decentralized organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of multiple concurrent projects, from pre-construction/estimation through final closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants to align objectives, manage expectations, and ensure project requirements are met.
  • Obtain all required approvals for permits and act as the primary liaison between the company, client, and each municipality
  • Lead project meetings, facilitate decision-making, and maintain clear, organized documentation and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit applications to various agencies/boards having jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvals
  • Review plans issued out of the department for correct revision dates and review start packages for accuracy
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, mentoring junior staff and promoting best practices in project execution and team collaboration.
  • Support business development activities including proposal development, scope definition, and client presentations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to project management processes, tools, and workflows.
