About The Position

Based in Bridge’s Rosemont office, the Senior Property Accountant is responsible for delivering high‑quality financial reporting, lender compliance, and property‑level accounting for an assigned portfolio of industrial real estate assets. This role requires deep technical accounting knowledge, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including property management, lenders, and asset management teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA preferred)
  • Five years of relevant property accounting or real estate accounting experience
  • Experience in commercial real estate, preferably industrial
  • Understanding of fixed asset accounting and capital project accounting
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
  • Ability to articulate key financial metrics such as P&L run rate, payback timing, IRR, and NPV

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Yardi Voyager, MRI, and Kardin a plus
  • Comfortable working with large, complex datasets

Responsibilities

  • Manage lender compliance and loan administration activities
  • Prepare and submit compliance reporting
  • Review loan documents and ensure ongoing covenant compliance
  • Coordinate ACH payment setup and tracking
  • Communicate with lenders and internal teams regarding rate caps, loan terms, and compliance items
  • Prepare monthly waterfall and excess cash flow calculations
  • Monitor insurance compliance and coordinate lender-required insurance documentation
  • Prepare annual lender budgets
  • Review loan closing statements and ensure accurate accounting treatment
  • Process operating expense draws on vacant operating properties
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including balance sheet reconciliations, cash reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Review monthly reporting packages and escalate issues when needed
  • Track all Real Estate Tax invoices and payments
  • Perform job cost tracking, management fee, and construction management fee tracking
  • Prepare monthly accruals and analyze financial information for accuracy
  • Perform complex debt and financial metric analysis, cash projections, and distribution calculations with minimal supervision
  • Provide financial reporting support for VAF properties, including loan draws
  • Oversee lease administration and set up expense pools/recovery groups, including CAM reconciliations, estimate letters, and mid-year true‑ups
  • Assist in the annual budget and quarterly reforecast process
  • Support quarterly distribution calculations
  • Assist with insurance payment tracking, property setup, and annual external audit support
  • Review Accounts Payable processing; monitor and process critical payments
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of bank statements and follow up on outstanding items
  • Perform reconciliation and true-up of funding vs. actual expenditures
  • Communicate financial and operational performance results and participate in preparing formal recommendations for leadership and partners
  • Assist property managers and clients in processing monthly financials
  • Identify and implement accounting and reporting process improvements
  • Support various ad hoc analyses and special projects as needed
